[info]caducaeus's Halloween party:

gravehearted dressed as Lady Godiva without the horse and far too little hair!.
heldc dressed as a bottle of Flulon.
jensolo dressed as Adam-the-first-man but the fig-leaf was far too big, and it suited them all too well.
luna_viking dressed as Mary-Kate Olsen with her very own conjoined Ashley.
meerkat dressed as Avril Lavigne's cousin.
sezjasaneh dressed as a very fake witch-doctor complete with a collection of shrunken skulls, and it suited them disturbingly well.
uberspooky dressed as the Viscount of Abarar.
valdara dressed as Mary Queen of Scots ... without her head. Most convincing.
whiterodentia didn't even show up and doesn't get any candy.

Throw your own party at the Hallomeme!

Adopt one today!

It has been hell week in the theater and I am dog tired. I also look fairly silly in a short haired wig. Been having lots of car drama last two weeks. Car was making noise, took it in, and they tell me I have to replace a motor mount. The noise is still there, and it turns out that it is a piston knocking on the side of the engine wall. Hell week is not the time to have your car diagnosed with eniment death syndrome. I was already $700 into repair and inspection, and it would be another $6700 to replace the engine. Just not worth it (already replaced the tranny last year). So I had to go shopping for a new car during hell week. As it is I already barely see K. Somehow test drove a couple of cars, and was able to do a lot of stuff online. Should have new car wed or thurs. Getting a Saturn Vue Hybrid, in black of course. Could really use some down time. Can't wait for the show to open Sat.

Opera just hatched on stage last night. Our first tech run through was interesting. I do wish people would remember where they are supposed to go sometimes. 30-40 people on stage stopping in the wrong place makes a difficult wall to cross. Hell week begins Thurs. I look forward to opening the 6th. Once the opera opens I actually get the semblance of having a life again with no rehearsal every night. Might even get to see my girlfriend, that would be cool.

Look at the cute little hatchlings, and one almost ready to break from it's shell.

Your Seduction Style: Sweet Talker

Your seduction technique can be summed up with "charm"

You know that if you have the chance to talk to someone...

Well, you won't be talking for long! ;-)

You're great at telling potential lovers what they want to hear.

Partially, because you're a great reflective listener and good at complementing.

The other part of your formula? Focusing your conversation completely on the other person.

Your "sweet talking" ways have taken you far in romance - and in life.

You can finess your way through any difficult situation, with a smile on your face.

Speeding tickets, job interviews... bring it on! You truly live a *charmed life*

K and I had great weekend. I was able to slink away from work a little early Sat. for our evening in S.F. We both got all dressed up pretty and drove up. Ended up parking in the theater district and went to this lovely French Brasserie and Bar called Grand Cafe. It has an open kitchen in a spacious room with French murals on the walls taking you back to the 1920s. We started our meal off with a fois gras de canard with necterine and truffle honey. It was melt in your mouth delicious. I had a prime rib special for dinner with mustard greens, hericot vert, fingerling potatoes and baby tomatoes. She had the Poulet Roti, a rosemary lemon chicken with the perfect crisp skin, and slender slices of lemon tucked under the skin. Cascading over the top of it were pearl onions, baby tomatoes, capers, corn, baby squash, etc. For desert we had Couer de la creme, creme fresh accompanied by peaches that had be poached in a liquor with fresh blueberries and raspberries with a sprig of mint.

Then it was of to the main event, the Eddie Izzard concert. We had row C tickets which ended up being row 2! We were off to one side, but we were quite close and nearly busted a gut. He even made fun of opera singers! We waited after the show by the stage door, eventually he came out and announced he could not do autographs, but could stay for a little Q and A. K was thrilled to be at the front of the velvet rope and just feet from him. I asked him if he ever had shaken an opera singer, and he said he had. He asked if I was a singer, and I told him yes, then he was quick to say, Well you're OK. It was a fine evening.

The next morning we ran off for dim sum with C and one of K's friends Daniel. We have found the best dim sum place on the planet in Milpitas. My favorites were the galicy calimari, and the duck. OMG the dripping crispy skin duck is to die for.

Then C went home and the rest of us went to CALIFORNIA EXTREME! This was a nostalgic video game haven. There were over 150 games all over one huge hall, and half of them were pinball. I pinballed my wrists off. Grabbed a yummy malt at Peggy Sue's and then more pinball.

Then we ran off to play board and card games and eat evil pizza, and Daniel's lady came to join us. Ah Apples to Apples, how I love thee.

I know I am a drama queen, but I am so disappointed by being assigned tenor II for the upcoming performance of Eugene Onegin. I have not been a tenor II in years. Now I have to unlearn what I have learned and start learning the other part, arg. They could have at least told me before I began committing the other to memory.

my mom left for home after helping me a couple days after surgery, only to discover she could not go home yet due to the wildfires raging between chico and paradise. the house should be safe from the fire, but it is still only 15% contained, and 20k acres burned. hoping she can go home soon

Busy Day

Yesterday was a long one.

Woke up and made an appointment to get oil changed in car. Got into car and noticed things were missing. Most specifically my iPod and its charger/FM transmitter dock. After checking, I also lost my headpones for my cell, and my digital camera. My fault for leaving the doors unlocked. It was a bummer, but had other things to think about. Got the oil changed, and then ran to another place and got the car washed and vacuumed.

Then it was time for the first of my three appointments to get clearance for my tonsilectomy on Monday the 9th. The first was with the cardiologist. I get there a little early and fill out the proper paperwork. They ask me for my copay, and tell me they only take cash and check. So I am like, fine where is there an ATM. I have to run across a 6 lane street and get back just in time, give her $40 and she has the gall to tell me, uh I don't think we have change. You can bet she went and found it. Then I waited 45min to get checked into a room. I planned to have 2 hours between appointments, that became 45min til appointment #2. At least cardio checked out ok, and the Dr was nice when I finally saw him. Appointment #2 was with the anastesiologist. He claimed that things should be OK, he just had to check the EKG from Cardio. So then I run to appointment #3 with the ENT that will be doing the surgery. He tells me that the anastesiologist says it is a no go, my BMI is to high. Then he says I'm a big guy, don't worry about it. They had the surgery planned for the Outpatient place, now it will be at the Hospital. So I have an extra appointment to see the hospital today. My mom called to see what was up, and she was suprised that they did not have me scheduled for the hospital in the first place (she is an Rn). So I am basically jumping through hoops for insurance.

Later in the day went shopping and got new sexy iPod, seems to be working great!

The new Indiana Jones movie is excellent! They poke fun at themselves greatly. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have come up with a funny and entertaining action movie, while looking back on their old work nostalgically. The normal Indy references to old timey detective, and adventure flicks is still there too. Some of the movies that are clearly referenced from their back catalog are Star Wars, Indiana Jones, American Graffiti, Transformers, The Legend of Zorro, Men in Black, Shrek, ET, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
